ABSTRACT
Nowadays, Indonesian world of information technology entire new stage that present of CDMA technology ( Code Division Multiple Access). Development of CDMA technology till CDMA2000 1x reached, it can hope accommodate high rate data service on optimal network and frequency allocation that has been exist. Application of CDMA network is needed best planning that to reach the optimal network and profitable. This paper research about cellular network planning of CDMA2000 1x which is restricted on network planning of radio link design. The planning is focused at Makassar City consist of two condition, there are urban and sub urban area.
The steps that are done in this planning : dimensioning equipments and business model for CDMA network for next several years. To fix this planning and solve the problem in this paper, writer use data and information which are obtained from operator Mobile 8, with apply network that base of CDMA2000 1x. The wish result from this paper are obtained the optimal network planning of CDMA2000 1x even using of network equipments aspect although cellular business aspect in Makassar.

PENDAHULUAN
1.1 Latar Belakang
Kebutuhan akan komunikasi bergerak masyarakat semakin hari semakin meningkat. Pada tahap awal perkembangan sistem komunikasi bergerak, faktor kapasitas tidak menjadi masalah karena jumlah pelanggan yang masih sedikit. Perancangan sistem lebih diutamakan pada faktor cakupan sel. Kemudian dengan meningkatnya jumlah pelanggan, ukuran kapasitas menjadi amat penting. Perusahaan maupun operator komunikasi bergerak kemudian dihadapkan pada masalah terus bertambahnya jumlah pelanggan yang menggunakan pita frekuensi yang sama.
